When is the best time to visit Bali Zoo?

The best time to visit the Bali Zoo is from 9 am to 12 pm when the animals are most active and the zoo is least congested.

We recommend you visit early as once the heat increases, animals tend to get into their closure and it gets difficult to spot them.

Anyone interested in the Night Safari should go after 5 pm to avoid the daytime heat.

How long does it take to visit the Bali Zoo?

It takes two to four hours to visit the Bali Zoo.

If you are visiting with kids, you will need more time as kids linger around their favorite zone for a longer time.

You will need two hours to tour the zoo if you are visiting with an adult group.

Visitors who want to participate in night safaris or animal encounter programs should allot more time.

How to get to Bali Zoo

Bali Zoo is located in Singapadu, Gianyar Regency, on the beautiful island of Bali in Indonesia.

Due to its location on an island, Bali can only be reached by flight. 

The Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali has good aviation connections to both domestic and foreign locations.

 It is around 12 kilometers from Denpasar, the capital city of Bali.

The best way to get to the Zoo from the airport is to take the Line 5 Bus and get out at the Bali Zoo Stop.

Alternatively, one may also use a taxi or hire a vehicle. 

The Bali Zoo lies in the Sukawati area between Sanur and Ubud.

It is a 20 minutes drive from Ubud and 30 minutes drive from Sanur.

If you are driving from Kuta, Seminyak or Canggu, it will take one hour to reach Bali Zoo.

The best way to reach the Bali Zoo is to hire a private car, drive or rent a scooter.

The scooter rentals start from Rp 140000 ($9), which includes a helmet, raincoat and free delivery in South Bali.

If you do not want to take a scooter, you can rent a private car or van charter with a driver.

Travel westward from the Jalan Raya Ubud road for about 9 to 12 kilometers until you see the direction to the Bali Zoo.

You can take the bus and Bemos (small minivan used by locals as transportation) and it also drops you to the Bali Zoo.
